We have all heard the adage, "seeing is believing." Although it often refers to the idea that people want proof of some incredible phenomenon, I like to think of it as an important principle of visualization and manifestation. What we see and believe we can be and do, we will work toward being and doing. Starting with creative thought about values and goals, we generate energy. When we actually turn that energy into something visual, we create even stronger energy that pulls us in that direction.
This week's challenge is about synergy and manifestation. Over the past several weeks, you have had the opportunity to explore yourself - past, present, and future - in a very deep and meaningful way, using both written and visual tools to focus your personal journey and goals. Now, I would like you to take some time to review what you've discovered and bring it all together by creating a Vision Map (also known as a Vision Board or Dream Board). Simply put, a Vision Map is a collage of pictures and words that very clearly depict your true self - who you are and who you are becoming.
Mapping your Vision
There are many ways to put a Vision Map together, but a strong Vision Map includes a variety of images and words that are completely synchronous with your core values and goals. Some people create their Vision Maps on a tangible surface such as foam core or poster board, while others go digital. Whatever your preference might be, in order for your Vision Map to be an effective tool, it should fulfill the following criteria:
- Create a time framework for your Vision Map. You might want to include very long-range goals or break it down into shorter terms goals. You might also want to create your Vision Map like an actual map - placing your goals linearly in a time frame to draw you along each step of the way.
- Your Vision Map should be strongly visual. By including images and words that resonate with your dreams, you send clear, readable messages to your subconscious mind. Try to find pictures that very specifically reflect what you wish to become and what you wish to attain. Tap into the many pictures you've already created in your mind, and see if you can find good matches in magazines, the internet, or in your own personal stash of art and photographs.
- Be true to your emotions. As you choose your images and words, reflect on your emotional reaction. Make sure each element of your map evokes a powerful and positive emotion, and make sure that the emotion rings true. Check in with your values to see if your images are aligned with them.
- Place your Vision Map where you can easily see it every day. The more you reflect upon and reinforce your goals, the stronger your directional energy will be.
- Update your Vision Map as needed. Your map should reflect your growth and should be a constant source of powerful inspiration. As you move forward and discover new goals, you may want to add new images that will charge your passion to achieve these goals. If you have decided to create a short-term Vision Map, you will obviously want to make a new one for the next phase of your journey.
Wrapping it Up
Your Vision Map is a dynamic framework for creating the life you want. You can use it as a definitive statement of the things you know you want, or you can use it to explore your goals as you go forward. Think of it as a poetic, artistic process in which you write your own story and paint in the colors and shapes of your life.
Invitation
I would like you to work on your Vision Map over the next two weeks, so there will not be a new challenge next Sunday. Although you need not have done any of the prior exercises to make a Vision Map, the extra time will give some people the opportunity to "catch up." I would love to include - with your permission, of course - any of your finished maps in a special post before the next Weekly Wings challenge on May 11. If you would like to share your Vision Map, the deadline for the post is May 7. Just leave a comment here and let me know!

I'm afraid this is very crude, and I want to make a better one (or more than one), but it is all I've had time for.
Still, it gave me a very good, very happy happy, peaceful feeling to do it. :-D
